Progress - or a War Zone ?
I've been told my blogs are getting to long. So I’m going to keep this very short.
I’ve mentioned before about how the countryside and the villages are changing around Nanjing. So I’m going to post a few pictures from this weekend.

This is rural China. It was very close to the where we lived when we arrived some 8 years ago.

While it still exists, it takes longer to get there now.
But how fast is it changing? My bike rides this weekend took me through examples of the impact on rural China.
Less than a year ago, this was farming land being cleared for building.

Less than 3 months a go this was a thriving village community. Now it looks like a war zone.

I cannot comment if the people from the village will be happier in the modern tower block apartments. They will have running water, toilets, be drier and warmer. But will they miss the community spirit ?
I’ll let you decide what you think?
